Help Ozark Regional Land Trust Plan for the Future

Via Email:

Dear Friend of Ozark Regional Land Trust,

ORLT's board of directors is in the process of revising the organization's strategic plan and seeks your input to help chart a course for the future.

The plan is intended to be a broad vision for where the organization would like to be in five years.  It covers capacity issues, such as staffing and fundraising, as well as land conservation and stewardship priorities.

No change is sought for the mission of the organization, which is to empower individual landowners to protect the natural resources of the Ozarks forever.  The primary tools used to carry out this mission will continue to include conservation easements and nature preserves.

Among the challenges that will be addressed in the plan is how to set conservation priorities within the large geographic area that makes up the Ozarks.

ORLT has been flexible enough in the past to respond to important conservation opportunities as they arose.  While the draft plan anticipates maintaining an ability to respond to such opportunities, we also seek to better define the criteria for new projects and to focus the use of limited resources on key priorities.

A copy of the current draft, which has been through one round of review and editing by ORLT board and staff, can be found at the following link:  ORLT Draft Plan

Your thoughts on how ORLT can best protect the Ozark landscape for future generations are an important component of the planning process.
